We propose a new method for retrieving the atmospheric number density profile in the lower thermosphere, based on the X-ray Earth occultation of the Crab Nebula with the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite. Morphological features of the quiet/disturbed time variations in the Total Electron Content (TEC) at the polar cusp station Bharati (76.69\textdegreeS MLAT) during a period of 5 years starting from February 2013 to December 2017 has been studied using GPS TEC measurements.
