The 15 January 2022 Hunga Tonga Eruption History as Inferred From Ionospheric Observations On 15 January 2022, the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai submarine volcano erupted violently and triggered a giant atmospheric shock wave and tsunami.
