Photo-counting detector for ionosphere far ultraviolet night airglow remote sensing Far ultraviolet earth night airglow is related to total electron content(TEC) of Ionosphere. GPS derived TEC and foF2 variability at an equatorial station and the performance of IRI-model The ionosphere induces a time delay in transionospheric radio signals such as the Global Positioning System (GPS) signal. Presented is an analysis of the occurrence of postsunset Equatorial Plasma Bubbles (EPBs) detected using a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver at Vanimo. The three year data set shows that the EPB occurrence maximizes (minimizes) during the equinoxes (solstices), in good agreement with previous findings.
